Analysis of Unbalanced Simultaneously Clustered and Longitudinal Data Using Quasi-Least Squares in SAS

چکیده
are measured on people who live within defined geographic regions. The measurements are then clustered within regions at each time point, but also comprise longitudinal measurements on each person across time. These data might be expected to have two potential sources of correlation, due to the similarity of measurements within and between the people in a region across time. While the former example considered multiple outcomes (e.g. systolic and diastolic blood pressure) measured repeatedly on each subject, this example considers multiple people assessed repeatedly in each region (e.g. in the same census tract). We will primarily consider subjects with multiple serial outcomes when we describe our software, but one should keep in mind that our results can also be applied to serial measurements of one outcome on different people within geographic regions.

متن کامل%QLS SAS® Macro: A SAS Macro for Analysis of Longitudinal Data Using Quasi- Least Squares
Quasi-least squares (QLS) is an alternative computational approach for estimation of the correlation parameter in the framework of generalized estimating equations (GEE). QLS allows for easier implementation of some correlation structures that are not available for GEE. We describe a user-written SAS® macro called %QLS, and demonstrate application of our macro using a clinical trial example for...
متن کاملComputing for Unbalanced Repeated Measures Experiments
Repeated measures experiments involve two or more intended measurements per subject. If the within-subjects design is the same for each subject, and if no data are missing, then the analysis is not very hard and there are readily available programs that do the analysis automatically. Huwever, if the data are not balanced, with the same arrangement for eaeh subject, then the analysis becomes muc...
متن کاملMaximum Likelihood for Generalized Linear Model and Generalized Estimating Equations
The most frequent methods to analyze statistical data are the regression methods, whereby the maximum likelihood method or that of least squares. On the one hand, in the context of the longitudinal data or repeated measurements, these data are often unbalanced; on the other hand, their law of probability are not normal rending the passage to other models with other methods of estimate possible....
متن کاملDesign-adaptive Minimax Local Linear Regression for Longitudinal/clustered Data
This paper studies a weighted local linear regression smoother for longitudinal/clustered data, which takes a form similar to the classical weighted least squares estimate. As a hybrid of the methods of Chen and Jin (2005) and Wang (2003), the proposed local linear smoother maintains the advantages of both methods in computational and theoretical simplicity, variance minimization and bias reduc...
